About the Journal
The Interdisciplinary Journal of the African Alliance for Research, Advocacy and Innovation (IJAARAI) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research, advocacy, and innovation relevant to Africa, Asia, and the wider Global South. The journal was established to provide an inclusive academic platform that fosters critical dialogue, evidence-based research, and practical solutions to contemporary developmental challenges facing emerging economies and communities.
Published quarterly under the auspices of the African Alliance for Research, Advocacy and Innovation, IJAARAI brings together scholars, researchers, policymakers, development practitioners, innovators, and advocates from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds. The journal promotes collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches to knowledge production, recognizing that complex social, economic, political, environmental, and technological challenges require integrated and context-sensitive solutions.
IJAARAI publishes original research articles, review papers, policy analyses, case studies, commentaries, and innovation reports across a broad range of fields, including public health, education, governance, economics, technology, environmental sustainability, gender studies, social sciences, humanities, and development studies. The journal particularly encourages submissions that highlight African and Asian perspectives, indigenous knowledge systems, local innovation, community engagement, and sustainable development practices.
The journal is committed to maintaining high academic and ethical standards through a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of originality, methodological quality, scholarly contribution, relevance, and practical impact. In addition to advancing academic discourse, IJAARAI seeks to strengthen the connection between research, policy, and practice by promoting evidence that can inform institutional reform, advocacy initiatives, and community transformation.
As a multidisciplinary publication, IJAARAI values diversity, inclusivity, and intellectual exchange. The journal welcomes contributions from both emerging and established scholars, including researchers from the African and Asian diasporas, and remains committed to amplifying underrepresented voices within the global academic landscape.
The journal was formerly hosted on IJAARAI.com. However, due to technical and administrative restructuring, the journal has migrated to a new official platform, IJAARAI.org, to enhance accessibility, digital stability, and long-term publishing efficiency for authors, reviewers, and readers worldwide.
Through its emphasis on interdisciplinary scholarship, advocacy, and innovation, IJAARAI contributes to the generation and dissemination of knowledge that supports sustainable development, resilience, equity, and social progress across Africa, Asia, and beyond.
